Badges from Eventbrite
From Eventbrite export to printed badges — no paid app required
Eventbrite sells your tickets and scans people in, but it won’t make your badges. You don’t need a paid marketplace app to fix that: export your attendee report, paste it into BonBadge and download a print-ready PDF — free, no account, and your attendee list never leaves your browser.
Meetup, conference, workshop, expo: ticketing runs on Eventbrite, registrations roll in, e-tickets send themselves. Then event week arrives with a mundane question — who’s making the badges? Not Eventbrite: the platform scans tickets, it has no badge designer. Its marketplace points to third-party badge apps, most of them paid, which connect to your account and copy your attendee list to their own servers.
There’s a simpler, more discreet route: your Attendees report already contains everything. Open your event, go to “Reports” and, under “Event reports”, pick “Attendees” — the CSV or Excel export lands in the “Exports” tab, one row per ticket. Paste the useful columns into BonBadge or import the file as-is: Eventbrite’s headers are recognized (“Attendee First Name”, “Ticket Type”…), first and last names are recombined, and your ticket types become colored category chips. Nothing leaves your browser: the preview and the PDF are generated on your machine.
🎟️ Ticket types become chips
General, VIP, Speaker, Student: the ticket types you set up in Eventbrite ride along in the export. Keep that column next to the names and every badge gets its category chip — the check-in desk knows who’s who at a glance.
🧠 Eventbrite columns, understood
“Attendee First Name”, “Attendee Last Name”, “Ticket Type”, “Order #”… BonBadge recognizes Eventbrite’s headers, recombines first and last names, and ignores the technical columns you don’t need.
🔒 More private than a connected app
A marketplace badge app plugs into your Eventbrite account and syncs your attendees to its own servers. BonBadge reads a file that stays on your machine: nothing uploaded, nothing stored, no account to create.
How it works
Export your attendees
From your event dashboard, open “Reports” and, under “Event reports”, choose “Attendees”. Export as CSV or Excel (.xls): the file appears in the “Exports” tab, one row per ticket.
Paste the list into BonBadge
Copy the useful columns — first name, last name, ticket type — or import the CSV as-is: Eventbrite’s headers are recognized automatically. Pick a template, add your logo and colors: the preview shows real names. Optional QR code, link or vCard.
Download, print, repeat
Export the PDF as A6 (one badge per page) or 4-up with crop marks — no watermark, no limit. Last-minute sales? Re-run the Eventbrite export and regenerate the PDF: a minute flat.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the attendee export in Eventbrite?
In your event dashboard, open “Reports”: the “Attendees” report sits under “Event reports”. Pick your format — CSV or Excel (.xls) — then grab the file from the “Exports” tab. To badge several events at once, use “Reports” at account level, select your events and run the report. Exact labels drift a little as Eventbrite updates its interface.
Why are attendees missing from my export?
Three causes come up constantly. You took the “Orders” report: it lists orders and their transactions — an order of five tickets is one line; for badges you want “Attendees”. Your order form only collects the buyer’s details: companions’ tickets then come through without a name of their own — Eventbrite shows a placeholder like “Information requested” instead. Or your export is a few days old: it’s a snapshot, so re-run it the night before to catch the latest sales.
How do I get each ticket holder’s name instead of the buyer’s?
By default, Eventbrite only asks for the buyer’s details: on a multi-ticket order, only the person who paid has a recorded name and email. The setting lives under “Order options” → “Order form”: choose “Each attendee” rather than “Ticket buyer” — ideally before sales open. For orders already placed without holder names, the fastest fix is filling in the blanks in your spreadsheet before pasting the list into BonBadge.
Are my custom questions (company, job title…) in the export?
Yes, through a dedicated report: “Custom question responses”, also filed under “Attendees” in “Reports”. Export it as CSV or Excel — “Show columns” lets you choose what’s included — then paste the columns you care about into BonBadge: a company or job title column shows up under the name, as the badge’s subtitle.
My event is free — does the export work the same way?
Yes. Free registrations or paid tickets, the “Attendees” report downloads identically and BonBadge doesn’t care either way. Watch for one free-event reflex, though: people grab several spots for colleagues while the default form only asks for the buyer’s name. Switch the order form to “Each attendee” if everyone should wear their own.
Does my attendee data end up on a server?
No. BonBadge runs entirely in your browser: the pasted list, the preview and the generated PDF never leave your machine. That’s the opposite of an app connected to your Eventbrite account, which pulls your attendees onto its own servers. Close the tab, nothing remains — no account, nothing installed.
