The three settings that make or break printed badges
- Scale: 100%. Print at “Actual size”, never “Fit to page” — fitting shrinks the badges by 3–5%, just enough to rattle loose in their holders.
- Paper: cardstock, not printer paper. 160–200 gsm (60–75 lb cover) is the sweet spot: stiff enough to sit flat in a holder, light enough for any office printer that takes cardstock.
- Cutting: follow the marks. The 4-up layout includes crop marks; a small guillotine trimmer gives clean edges in minutes, and scissors work fine when the pile is short.

What paper should I print name badges on?
Cardstock in the 160–200 gsm range — 60 to 75 lb cover in US terms — is the best balance of stiffness and printability for a badge going into a holder. Heavier than that, check what your printer accepts before buying a ream.
How do I cut the badges cleanly?
The 4-up PDF includes crop marks: a desktop guillotine or rotary trimmer gives a clean result in a few minutes. Scissors work too — the marks show exactly where to cut.
Can I print on US Letter paper?
Yes. The one-badge-per-page layout is an A6 page (4.1 × 5.8 in), smaller than Letter — print it at “Actual size” and it comes out true to scale. The four-per-sheet layout is designed for A4; on Letter, use the one-per-page file rather than letting the printer shrink the sheet.
Do I need to install anything?

What if I’d rather not print them myself?
